Jolene K. Buehrer, PhD

Dr. Buehrer is a lecturer of English at Bowling Green State University/Firelands in Huron, OH. She has served as an adjunct instructor of English at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. Prior to earning her PhD and beginning her academic teaching career, Dr. Buehrer served as director of public relations for a healthcare system in the Midwest for 15 years. Her publications include History, Culture, and the Spirit of Place in the New Mexico Novels of Frank Waters, (PhD Dissertation), and “Introducing a New Cultural Course to a College Campus,” published in AURCO Journal, Spring 2006. She is a member of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association, the Association for the Study of American Indian Literature, The Western Literature Association, and the National Council of Teachers of English.
