DM 202: Video Editing
Overview
The act of shooting a video story is only one part of the complete storytelling process. The story must also have a written script and narration if necessary; and it must also be edited into a coherent story by removing unwanted scenes, shortening others, adding narration and music if wanted, and recording the finished piece to an Edit Master of some kind, either a DVD or DV tape or Betacam Tape. This course takes students step-by-step through the edit process. They will learn how to assemble a basic story using natural sound, sound on tape, B roll sequences, narration, music, and on-scene live reports.
