Overview

Projects are often thought of only in operational terms; however, it is crucial that the strategic impact of projects be considered. This course will deal with the emergence of strategic thinking in the field of project management.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Evaluate the potential strategic impact of a proposed project.
  • Develop a position paper that places a project in the context of an existing strategic plan.
  • Apply best practice in the area of strategic management to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a project.
